Celia makes it a point to go after Alayna, stalks her and makes her go insane. She turns into what Alayna used to be and that’s never a good thing. That makes things dicey and then to add insult to injury, we have Celia who just won’t go away, and who we learn is quite evil. we know that Alayna doesn’t trust any of the interactions that he has with any of the women in his life, employee or otherwise.

Then there’s the downard bit of the roller coaster where things are just messy. it’s just out there in your face and it’s hot. Along with this we get some great passion and the chemistry between these 2 is something that you can’t stop or reign in. We see that Hudson sees the best in Alayna and wants to see her succeed – not just because they are lovers, but because he sees her as being incredibly smart and capable. We see the happiest times with these two. We go on a roller coaster in this 3rd installment. Given what we know of Alayna’s trust issues and what we know of Hudson and his games, it’s not surprising at all that there’s a constant push / pull dynamic with these 2 and their trust issues. I think that there’s so much tension in this book, the uinderlying or quite obvious (to be honest) theme here is trust and whether knowing that you love someone and that they love you – if it’s enough. I love where this final installment in the main trilogy bit took us. As much as she feels for him, her ability to forgive and forget is tested beyond her limits.Įven though she found the only man who could fix her, a forever with Hudson seems more and more out of reach. Promises that were made are broken, and Alayna learns that Hudson still has very potent secrets-secrets that will tear them both apart. Alayna, in particular, has grown through their trials, and has emerged more confident and faithful to the man she loves.īut while the pair is focused on the future, their past shows up again to threaten their fragile bond. It won’t be easy for the scarred lovers, but they’re committed to each other more now than ever.

They decide that the only way they can move forward together is with open doors and transparency. Alayna Withers relationship with Hudson Pierce has tested both her and his ability to trust.
